Sue began training for her radiography degree the day her fifth child started school. Through the bone world, she met Nichola Dalzell at a National Osteoporosis Conference and was eventually introduced to Research. Sue began working for the University of Cambridge in January 2006, and for Epic, casually in June 2008 and permanently in August 2009.

Susan loves family life and church life. She also enjoys keeping active with walking and swimming.
