Subodha is from Nepal. She received a B.Sc (Hons) in Nutrition and Food Science from Curtin University of Technology, Australia in 1998. She worked in Nepal with the Nutrition Programme of the United Mission to Nepal and with the UNICEF Regional Office for South Asia before coming to Cambridge, UK in 2001 to join her husband. She completed the Master of Philosophy degree in Epidemiology at the University of Cambridge Department of Public Health and Primary Care in 2002. She has worked as a research nutritionist with EPIC for 3.5 years prior to starting her PhD in April 2006.
