Serena joined EPIC in June 2007 to design the data entry system for the Third Health Check questionnaire.  Following that, she continued with EPIC as a programmer in biomedical informatics under the supervision of Robert Luben.

Serena is originally from India where she completed her masters degree in computer application in 2003. She worked in a multi-national software firm for more than a year. After marriage, she then moved initially to the middle east and then to the UK with her family. Her husband Anuj is a Senior Physiotherapist at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.

Serena enjoys cooking and playing with her daughter Niamh.
