Sandra was born in Debden, near Epping in Essex. She started her working life with the Daily Mirror, where she spent nine years employed in several different jobs. She worked in Holland for four years, where she met her husband, Dave.

Sandra is very interested in animals: she has two German Shepherd dogs and also keeps birds, fish and six different types of rodent. She likes to read and she enjoys knitting and watching good films.
