Alison's main responsibilities are the training of data enterers and quality of data entry. She has trained forty-five people over the last five years in the workings of the program. She is involved in the management of databases for DINER, data cleaning and processing of dietary data.

She also works on the development of an international food composition database for EPIC in Europe and on the EPIC working group on patterns of carbohydrate consumption in Europe.

Other interests include two sons and trying to find time for running, cycling, walking, music, learning to paint, reading and film.
