EPIC UK

There are two EPIC centres in the UK, located in Oxford and Cambridge. The Cambridge EPIC, which studies people living in Norfolk, is described in the rest of this site.

The other EPIC centre in the UK is based at the Cancer Research UK Epidemiology Unit in Oxford. This cohort includes a large number of vegetarians from all over the UK (recruited through vegetarian and health food societies, shops, and magazines), reflecting the interests of the co-ordinating group. EPIC-Oxford has also recruited people aged 40-65 living in Oxfordshire through their GPs.

So far, more than 65,000 individuals have joined the Oxford EPIC cohort, roughly half of whom are vegetarians.
