These practices are still taking part today and are supported through the National Health Service (NHS) Research and Development (R&D) Programme. This funding is gradually being phased out and being replaced by support from the Comprehensive Local Research Network (CLRN) which was created as part of the governments research and development strategy, Best Research for Best Health to provide a world-class infrastructure for clinical trials and studies such as EPIC-Norfolk running within the NHS.
